Mating Games
Auroville – 17th October 2021
We know Nature is unpredictable, but sometimes it is very random. As if all that is happening these days, the climatic upheavals, the retreat of glaciers, pandemics, deforestation, floods were not enough. Now even the animal kingdom appears to be going a little crazy. I mean, come on, a peacock wooing a kitten, really! Never been seen before.
For the male peacock, it seems absolutely normal, while the kitten looks at us in amazement as if to say, "This is crazy! What is this fowl thinking?" Perhaps it's just the innate instinct that compels males to strut around as soon as they smell a female, even if in the end it comes to nothing.
What would happen in case of mating? It would be curious to see if the cat could nest and hatch the eggs like a good mother while the peacock opened his feathered wings and flew off somewhere else.
